Performance Series
The Performance Series is an opportunity for advanced improv students to delve into a specific improvised long form and learn how to work as a performance group. You will learn how to be a part of a directed show, build chemistry with your team, and perform. The series has the additional benefit of preparing you to form an independent team, capable of submitting and performing improv at All Out Comedy Theater or any other venue.
It is a 2 part series. Each series is 8 week classes, for a total of 16 weeks. You do not have to attend both sessions, however you will have to attend the first 8 week session to move on to the second performance class portion.
The improv forms offered will change throughout the year.
Session 1
The first 8 week session teaches you the form and the improv skillsets that are honed by working within the form. A performance follows the completion of the session. Details on the next session offered can be found below.
Session 2
The second 8 week session focuses on performance skills. During the first 4 weeks the class will get the form show-ready. The remaining 4 weeks will continue with weekly rehearsals and weekly shows. Details on the next session offered can be found below.
Learn the improv long form, The Harold. This 8 week class will break down all the components and structure of the Harold. The course will end with a performance of the form.
You will learn the traditional openers and games and also how to organically create them as a group. We will delve into each beat and how to develop and connect worlds, characters, themes, and patterns.
The Harold is a long-form improv form invented by Del Close at The I.O. Theater, which became the theater's mainstay show. The form has been used to create structure for comedy writing of sitcoms and movies.

Requirements: AOC’s Level 4 Or Equivalent at another improv training center.

Perform The Harold
Over the 8 week session, students will be directed to get the Harold performance ready, perform 4 weekly shows, and receive one and one feedback.
